Cultivating Spirituality Amid Our Many Commitments
We are living through a time filled with commitments, projects, and responsibilities in our church. We have much ahead of us, and each of these initiatives is an opportunity to serve God and our community. However, in the midst of so many tasks, we need to be careful that doing does not replace being.
The life of the Church cannot be sustained by meetings, events, campaigns, or activities alone. Above all, we are a community of faith, called to remain in Christ. Therefore, cultivating both personal and communal spirituality must remain at the heart of everything we do.
Personal spirituality invites us to make time for prayer, Scripture, silence, and reflection. It is in this space of intimacy with God that we renew our strength, discern our path, and find the peace we need to serve.
At the same time, we need to nurture our spirituality as a community. When we pray together, listen to one another, study Scripture, celebrate the Eucharist, and share our experiences of faith, we strengthen the bonds that truly make us the Church.
We have many important projects ahead of us, but none is more important than our journey with God and with one another. We do not want simply to do things for the Church; we want to be a living, spiritual, and welcoming Church.
May every commitment we make be accompanied by prayer, every project be rooted in discernment, and every activity be an expression of our faith. In this way, we can move forward together—not simply busy, but spiritually strengthened, united, and open to the work of the Holy Spirit.
Let's continue the good work for God through our church, moving forward in a positive direction, and more and more people will be reached for Him, the way, the truth, and the life.
