For nearly 200 years, St. James Anglican Church has been a place where people have encountered Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, music, fellowship, service, and Christian community.
The church we know today has been shaped by generations of faithful people who gave generously of their time, talents, and financial resources. Some gave during their lifetimes. Others chose to leave a legacy through their estates—ensuring that the ministry of St. James would continue long after they were gone.
As we celebrate our bicentennial, we have an opportunity to do the same.
A Legacy of Light and Hope invites us to look beyond the present and consider how we can help launch St. James into its third century of ministry.

Legacy giving is not new at St. James.
Throughout our church are reminders of the faithful generosity of those who came before us—memorial gifts, sacred furnishings, stained glass, music, cemetery care, and countless acts of stewardship that continue to bless the parish today.
Among the most significant is the Langstaff Memorial, commemorating a legacy gift that arrived at a pivotal moment in the parish's history.
At a time when St. James faced significant financial challenges, the Langstaff gift helped renew the life of the parish. It strengthened the church financially, supported important improvements, and perhaps most importantly, restored hope and confidence for the future.
That is the lasting impact of a legacy gift.
It does more than preserve the past.
It creates possibilities for the future.
