A Legacy of Light and Hope
There are many ways to support the future ministry of St. James Anglican Church.
As part of A Legacy of Light and Hope, parishioners and friends are invited to consider how they might help ensure that St. James continues to be a place of worship, service, music, fellowship, and Christian witness for generations to come.
Every donor’s circumstances and charitable goals are unique. Some people wish to provide flexible, unrestricted support for the future needs of the parish. Others prefer to establish a permanent endowment that will provide annual income for ministry for generations to come.
Both approaches are meaningful expressions of faithful stewardship. The choice is yours.
There are Two Ways to Leave a Legacy Gift to St. James
A flexible legacy gift provides St. James with the greatest ability to respond to the opportunities and challenges of the future.
Unless otherwise directed, your gift will be treated as an unrestricted gift and added to the St. James Strategic Reserve, where it is invested through the Diocese of Ontario Consolidated Investment Fund.
Because the gift is unrestricted, parish leadership may apply it wherever it is most needed in support of the mission and ministry of St. James—including worship, pastoral care, outreach, Christian formation, building stewardship, and new ministry opportunities.
Ways to Make Your Gift
Whether you choose a Flexible Legacy Gift or an Endowment Gift, there are several ways to make your gift.
A bequest is the most common and often the simplest way to leave a lasting legacy.
Your gift may be:
- A specific dollar amount
- A percentage of your estate
- A particular asset
- The residue of your estate
You retain complete control of your assets during your lifetime and may revise your will whenever your circumstances change.
